These Terms of Service govern your use of BLACKSTART, operated by C3K Solutions (sole proprietorship, Jory Akeen, Mannville, Alberta, Canada). By accessing BLACKSTART or subscribing to the operator console, you agree to these terms.
BLACKSTART aggregates publicly available information about data center construction projects in Western Canada — including Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan — and assigns a BuildReadiness score to each project. The score reflects signals drawn from public regulatory registries, utility interconnection queues, and government press releases.
The operator console is available by paid subscription only. Access is granted manually by C3K Solutions on a concierge basis. Subscription fees, billing cadence, and any additional terms are agreed upon in writing before access is granted.
BLACKSTART derives its data from the following publicly accessible sources:
BLACKSTART does not warrant the completeness, timeliness, or accuracy of data from these sources. Registries may lag real-world project status by days, weeks, or longer. Projects may be announced, restructured, deferred, or cancelled without notice in any public source. Curated or hand-maintained data entries (marked “CURATED” on the Methodology page) are reviewed periodically but may be stale between review cycles.
BuildReadiness scores are computed from available signals. A high score indicates strong representation in public data — not a guarantee that a project will proceed on schedule or at all.
BLACKSTART’s BuildReadiness scoring model is a proprietary analytical framework. It is not an industry standard, a regulatory instrument, or a certified rating methodology. Two users reviewing the same project data may reach different conclusions.
You may use BLACKSTART for your own internal business intelligence purposes. You may not:
Subscriptions are billed on a month-to-month basis. The billing amount and start date are established at the time of onboarding. Invoices are issued via Stripe Invoicing or by e-transfer at C3K Solutions’ discretion.
BLACKSTART does not auto-renew subscriptions. Each billing period is manual. If you wish to continue access, payment is required for each period.
Subscription fees are not prorated or refunded for partial months. If you cancel mid-period, your access remains active until the end of the paid period, after which it is revoked.
C3K Solutions may adjust subscription pricing with reasonable notice. Existing subscribers will be notified by email before any price change takes effect.
C3K Solutions may revoke your access, with or without notice, in the following circumstances:
Upon revocation, your session is invalidated immediately and you will not be able to sign in. You may request reinstatement by contacting jory@c3ksolutions.com.
You may cancel your subscription at any time by contacting us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period.
The BLACKSTART platform, including the BuildReadiness scoring methodology, weighting rubrics, operator-console interface, and all software, is the property of C3K Solutions. No subscription grants you any ownership interest, licence to copy, or right to sublicense any component of the platform.
The underlying project data is derived from public government registries. BLACKSTART does not claim copyright over that raw data, but the selection, arrangement, scoring, and presentation of that data as expressed on this platform is original work and is protected accordingly.
In no event will C3K Solutions be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages, including lost profits, lost revenue, or lost business opportunity, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Alberta and the applicable laws of Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of BLACKSTART shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of Alberta, Canada. You irrevocably consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. We will notify active subscribers by email before making any material change to these Terms. Continued use of BLACKSTART after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
